RoomU began with a simple but common challenge that every student faces when coming to UC Davis: finding the right roommate. As we prepared to start our journeys at Davis, we all shared the same questions: Who will my roommate be? How can I make sure they’re nice, compatible, and someone I’ll enjoy living with?

These questions sparked countless conversations among friends, in online forums, and in every corner of campus. We realized that everyone was grappling with the same concerns, and yet there wasn’t an easy, reliable way to find the answers. That’s when we decided to build RoomU—a platform designed to take the guesswork out of finding a roommate and make the process as smooth as possible.
